Building AI Solutions
with Care and Rigor

We're a small team in Melaka focused on making artificial intelligence more accessible, ethical, and genuinely useful for Malaysian organizations.

Our Story

Inferix started in early 2024 when three AI researchers in Melaka realized there was a gap between academic machine learning research and practical business applications. Too many organizations were either overwhelmed by hype or underwhelmed by vendors who promised the world but delivered incremental improvements at best.

We founded the company on a simple premise: treat AI work the way it should be treated — as careful, collaborative problem-solving rather than magic solutions or product sales. This means spending time understanding what you're actually trying to accomplish, being honest about what AI can and cannot do, and building systems that respect both technical constraints and ethical considerations.

Today, Inferix works with research institutions, healthcare organizations, and technology companies across Malaysia. We maintain active research collaborations, contribute to open-source projects, and regularly present at regional AI conferences. Our approach combines academic rigor with commercial pragmatism — we care about publishing papers and we care about deploying working systems.

What distinguishes us is our commitment to transparency. When we take on a project, we explain our methodology, share our reasoning, document our decisions, and help you build internal capacity rather than creating dependency. We believe good AI work involves teaching as much as building, and partnerships work best when both parties understand what's happening under the hood.

Our Standards

Data Protection

All client data handled under strict confidentiality with encrypted storage, access controls, and secure transfer protocols compliant with Malaysian PDPA standards.

Research Integrity

We follow academic research standards including proper experiment design, reproducible methods, peer review processes, and transparent reporting of limitations.

Ethical AI Development

Every project includes ethics review addressing bias, fairness, privacy, and appropriate use. We provide usage guidelines and help establish responsible deployment policies.

Technical Excellence

Code reviews, automated testing, performance benchmarking, and documentation standards ensure reliable systems. We prioritize maintainability and knowledge transfer.

Cultural Sensitivity

Malaysian context informs all our work — language considerations, cultural norms, local data characteristics, and community values shape our technical decisions.

Partnership Approach

We work alongside your team rather than replacing them. Regular knowledge sharing, joint decision-making, and capacity building create sustainable outcomes.

Our Values in Practice

We believe artificial intelligence should enhance human capabilities rather than replace human judgment. This means designing systems that augment expertise, provide transparency in their reasoning, and acknowledge uncertainty when appropriate. Our emotion recognition work, for instance, includes extensive documentation about appropriate and inappropriate use cases — we want the technology deployed thoughtfully rather than indiscriminately.

Collaboration matters more than vendor relationships. When we partner on research, we share infrastructure, co-author publications, and establish clear intellectual property arrangements from the start. For commercial projects, we document decisions, explain trade-offs, and help build internal understanding so your team can maintain and extend the work independently.

Technical rigor and practical constraints exist in productive tension. We care about state-of-the-art methods and we care about solutions that actually work in production. This means sometimes recommending simpler approaches when they'll be more reliable, maintainable, and cost-effective than cutting-edge alternatives. The best solution is the one you can successfully deploy and sustain.

Malaysian context shapes everything we build. Language models trained on Western data often struggle with code-switching between Malay, English, Chinese, and Tamil. Computer vision systems need to work well for darker skin tones prevalent in our region. Business hours, cultural festivals, and communication norms differ from Western assumptions. These aren't afterthoughts — they're core design considerations.
